Pay: $20/hr & mileage reimbursement at current federal rate
Description: The Drop-off Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for growing New Earth Farm's network of neighborhood food scrap drop-off locations. This role is built around getting to know the community–meeting business owners, talking to strangers at events, and helping people discover composting for the first time. The ideal candidate will be outgoing and someone who genuinely loves striking up conversations, feels at home presenting to a room of strangers, and is energized by the idea of "blanketing" St. Louis with composting access. This position requires a substantial understanding of composting–what's happening in the bucket, why it matters environmentally, what makes finished compost so valuable, etc.; if you already have this knowledge, great! If not, you must be eager and able to quickly learn!
The Drop-off Outreach Coordinator must be able to explain composting in a way that's contagious. People should walk away from a conversation with this person wanting to start composting immediately! This position is central to a grant-funded expansion effort, with a goal of establishing 15+ new drop-off sites and hosting 40+ educational events across the region in the first year.
Must also email resume and brief cover letter explaining why you’d be good for this job to john@newearth.farm. Applicants who do not do so will not be contacted.
